Global Public Argument.

Fitting into the Global Public Argument
For the most part, there are many dangers, disasters, and problems in the world today. The main problem that my organization, the 4-H Club, and I believe is dangerous is pollution. Pollution has been around for decades and still has a major negative impact on the environment. Several people, like corporate leaders, government officials, environmentalists, and the general public, have debated about the problems that pollution causes and what should be done to reduce or stop pollution. Well, I’m going to write about the different types of pollution, some of the different debates about pollution, a couple of solutions that may help reduce some pollution, and the debate about if these solutions are effective or ineffective.
Three main types of pollution exist, which are air, water, and land pollution. Air pollution primarily comes from car emissions, industrial factories and power plants, burning trash, and deforestation. All of these things have helped air pollution rise to deadly levels and cause health problems, such as asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Another type of pollution is water pollution and several pollutants that cause water pollution are industrial pollution, people dumping trash into rivers and oceans, agricultural herbicide and pesticide runoff, radioactive waste, sewage, oil spills, etc. Also, water pollution can kill people, wildlife, and plants and can carry deadly diseases, like cholera, diarrhea, and trachoma. The final type of pollution is land pollution, which is caused by putting trash into landfills, industries burying industrial waste, acid rain, pesticide pollution, etc. Land pollution can pollute the soil to the point that people can not live in an area, have to evacuate their homes and go live somewhere else, can kill plants and animals, and can eventually seep into water sources and cause more pollution.
Now there are several debates about pollution, but I only chose a few that pertain to questions, like are air and water pollution serious problems and are corporations polluting the environment. For starters, there is the debate about whether or not air pollution threatens human health. My organization, the 4-H Club, and several environmentalists believe that air pollution is a serious risk to human health. Air pollution can increase respiratory symptoms in healthy people, may alter the immune system, irritates the lungs thereby increasing peoples risk for respiratory infections, interferes the ability of the blood to carry oxygen to tissues and organs in the body, impaired mental performance, headaches, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, etc. Also, the most severe effects that air pollution causes are chronic heart and lung disease, a coma, and death. All of these health problems can be reduced, but the only way this will happen is if the government and industries find a better way to reduce or stop pollution. On the other hand, the EPA, which is the Environmental Protection Agency, and other industries think that the air quality has improved over the last couple of years. The EPA states that toxic air pollutants have dropped considerably and that the air quality will keep improving. Also, the EPA, along with other government agencies, wants to continue to improve the air quality in the United States.
Another debate is about if corporations are causing pollution or reducing pollution. Several environmentalists and my organization, the 4-H Club, believe that corporations are causing pollution. Corporations have been around for a long time, but now the corporations have gained more power and are spread through out the world causing pollution that damages the environment. People see pollution almost every day, so it is not like no one on earth does not know about pollution. The local and global media also mentions the different forms of pollution, like oil spills, mercury poisoning, chemical explosions, etc. These corporations are polluting the air, water, and soil to the extent that it is affecting plants, animals, and people’s health. A lot of animals, plants, and even people have died from too much exposure to pollution. This needs to stop and corporations have to do a better job of disposing harmful chemicals and pollutants. However, several businesses and corporations think that they have made a lot of progress reducing pollution and conserving resources. All of these big businesses and corporations state that they use fewer materials and create technology that minimizes pollution.
Pollution is a major problem, but there are a few things the people can do to help reduce it. The simplest thing people can do is to recycle. Almost anything can be recycled. For example, people can recycle paper, plastic, glass, metal, batteries, motor oil, appliances, cell phones, laptops/computers, etc. People just have to find a recycling center close to where they live, sort out the recyclable items at the recycling center, and that is it. Another thing that people can do is reuse items or give old items away to places like Goodwill. People can also plant a tree like my organization, the 4-H Club, is doing. My organization, the 4-H Club, is doing a project called the 4-H Million Trees Project. The goal of this project is to get 4-H members and volunteers from across the United States and Canada to plant one million trees to help reduce air pollution. Other groups and organizations can join this cause and become members of the Arbor Day Foundation within four years. Several 4-H clubs and other organizations will also get twelve trees to plant, one dollar each tree, throughout these four years. Another great thing about planting trees is that the shade from trees helps cool buildings, which reduces the use of electricity, trees absorb runoff, and new trees make up for trees lost to deforestation. Also another thing people might want to do is walk, ride a bike, take public transportation, or carpool to help reduce pollution.
All of these solutions are great, but one solution is really being debated, which is recycling. The debate is mainly about if recycling is effective or ineffective. Of course, my organization, the 4-H Club, and environmentalists strongly believe that recycling is effective. Recycling reduces dependency on increasingly expensive landfills, recycling programs have saved cities millions of dollars, and efficient recycling programs can reduce waste and pollution. However, several industries believe that recycling programs are unprofitable and unnecessary, recycling can waste resources, and that recycling does not reduce waste.
Overall, all topics, including the topics I have mentioned, will be debated. People can choose going to a landfill or going to a recycling center because it is their choice to make. However, something has to be to either reduce pollution or stop it all together. Different animals are going extinct because pollution is causing global warming, which affects animal’s habitats, and pollution destroys animal’s food sources, like plants and smaller animals. Our planet, in essence, is slowly dieing and this is all happening because of the major impact that we all have on the planet. This is not just caused by pollution, but also by overpopulation, habitat destruction, consuming too many resources, expanding cities, etc. Right now people need to make a change to help save the planet because if we don’t do something soon, several future generations will not have a future to live for.

Activist Proposal.

Activist Proposal
Several problems plague the world today. Some examples are sickness, poverty, natural disasters, global warming, the economy, etc. However, the one problem that my group, which is the 4-H Club, and I believe is really urgent is pollution. Pollution is affecting the environment more today than it has ever done in the past. This is why we need a change, but first I will describe the different types of pollution and how pollution is damaging the environment.
There are three main types of pollution, which is air, water, and land pollution. For starters, air pollution is a big concern because it is damaging the atmosphere. Most scientists believe that a major cause of this global warming is air pollution caused by human activity (Gifford, 20). Another major concern is that smog, which is a mixture of air pollutants, build up to unhealthy levels in big cities and urban areas. Smog in these areas can cause major health problems, is partly responsible for breathing disorders like asthma, and can kill people.
Another pollutant is water pollution. Water pollution sources can be divided into two types, which are point source, where pollutants reach water through a specific entry point like an oil spill, and non-point source, comes from different sources and can be harder to control like sewage and chemical runoff (Gifford, 22). There is also radioactive pollution, agricultural pollution, industrial pollution, and people dumping trash into lakes and rivers. Water pollutants can help transmit disease, kill animals, plants, and humans, and cause dead zones where there is not enough oxygen for life to exist, like in lakes and parts of the sea. Many foreign countries still do not have clean water and people have shorter life spans compared to countries that have clean water, in which people have longer life spans.
The last main type of pollution is land pollution. Trash can suffocate or trap land animals. People bury trash in landfills and the soil eventually becomes contaminated. Pesticide pollution from farmers can also pollute the soil over time and can give people pesticide poisoning. Some areas of soil become so polluted that people have to leave their homes and move to different areas.
All of these pollutants are harming the environment, but there is something we can do about it. First and foremost, people can recycle. This is one of the easiest ways people can help the environment. You can search the internet to find a recycling center close to home or ask neighbors, friends, or family where you could find a recycling center. There are also several things you can recycle. For instance, you can recycle paper, metal, plastic, glass, oil, batteries, light bulbs, shoes, etc. You can even recycle laptops, regular computers, cell phones, and some other electronics, but you have to recycle these things at computer stores and stores like Best Buy.
Another way you can help the environment is by reusing things. Factories do not have to make as many products for people if people reuse what they already have. Also, factories will give off less carbon emissions if they do not have to make as many products. You can also give stuff away that you don’t use anymore to places like Goodwill. This way so much trash does not end up in landfills.
Using different types of transportation can help the environment. We need to use vehicles less so that we produce less carbon dioxide, which affects the atmosphere. People can walk to different places, but this can be slow going if you have to be somewhere that is ten miles away. Bicycling is another option, but you have to be in good physical shape. These two options are really good for the environment. However, if you have to use a vehicle try public transportation, carpool with friends or coworkers, and if you have to use your car make your trips count by getting everything you need to get done on one side of town.
Gardening and composting are also great ways to help the environment. A garden can help absorb some pollution from the air and soil. It also helps people save money on groceries and people eat healthier. Also, composting is the process of breaking down old food, leafs, and pet poop and these things can be used as a natural fertilizer for plants.
For the most part, I think planting trees is the most effective way of helping the environment. Trees help reduce carbon emissions from factories and cars. This is why my organization, the 4-H Club, is planting trees across the U.S. and Canada. The 4-H clubs from around the U.S. and Canada are doing the 4-H million trees project. Basically, the goal of this project is to get 4-H clubs to plant one million trees across the continent to help the environment.
Basically, most of the pollution from around the world is damaging the environment. People are dying from diseases caused by air, water, and land pollution. Different animals are going extinct because pollution is causing global warming, which affects animal’s habitats, and pollution destroys animal’s food sources, like plants and smaller animals. We need a change and we need it now. The planet needs to be preserved for future generations because if we do not protect the environment and the earth now, we will not have an earth to protect in the future.

Earth week and homework.

This week has been the busiest week I have had all semester. I have 4 finals to study for and I have 4 essays and an art project to do and all of this homework is due next week. However, I did have some fun this week. I went to see the movie earth, which is great. It has so many breathtaking scenes in it. People should really go and see it. This week was also earth week and people were planting trees and cleaning up litter. To bad people don't do this all year. I also did some public advocacy handing out brochures with my English classmates. My brochure is about stopping pollution. It is a major problem that people have to face and should be replaced with a better solution and a cleaner source of energy. Hopefully I get all of my homework done this weekend before it rains.
Here is the Earth movie poster image to the left of my blog entry.

Easter get together and too much homework.

I really enjoyed this weekend. I actually had a get together at my house after all. It was nice seeing everyone in my family again. But, my mom and I had to rush to get the house cleaned up and cook most of the food the night before. It was worth it though. I also got to rent some movies. However, I wish I would have had more of a weekend to get all my homework done. I have a writing assignment and a flyer to do for English class, a speech and written work to do for my other class, and I have an art project to do with a 3 paragraph paper about our art project. The speech and the writing assignment are due Thursday and the art project is due Wednesday. So basically I have 2-3 days to get all this work done. Luckily I have all the sources that I need. I have also narrowed done my topic to pollution/global warming and the solution to the problem, which I think is recycling. Plus I might get more homework from another class and I'm getting a head start on studying for finals. So, I am really busy this week. I hope next week is less hectic. Overall, I had a pretty good weekend.

Homework, Cows, and Easter!

This past week has been extra busy and I have had lots of homework. I had to write 4 papers for three different classes. However I got them all done. The only thing I'm worried about is the speech I have to give tomorrow because I have not had that much time to practice and this speech counts for a big percentage of my final grade. I hope that I do well. Anyway, this weekend was pretty good, except for the homework. I got to watch a few movies and relax a little bit. Also, some of the cows got out on Saturday, which was very time consuming because the cows wanted to be stubborn, and my dad almost flipped the four wheeler over. Other than this last week was pretty good. I also can't wait for this up coming week to be over because everyone gets of on Friday because it is good Friday and Easter weekend. So I will have a three day weekend. My family sometimes gets together for Easter, but this year I don't think we can get everyone together. So both me and my parents will relax and maybe make some nacho dip with chicken patties for Easter. I probably will also start studying for finals because finals is just a month away. I will study and hope for the best.

A Proposal For A Needed Change!

Right now there are several changes that need to be made in the world. I could talk about homeless children, the school system, elderly health care, or the economy; but I will talk about global warming and recycling. People have talked about global warming for so long that most people don't care about it anymore. However, people need to be concerned because it will eventually affect them, their family, and the world. Pollution is contaminating the air, water, and soil. This has an effect on everyone because pollution is getting to the point where it is affecting the food that we eat, the water we drink, and the air that we breath. Landfills also affect the environment by contaminating the soil. Deforestation also affects the environment because a lot of animals are becoming extinct and there not just the exotic animals either. Animals like wolfs, bears, turtles, rabbits, some birds, some dear, and some other animals are on the endagered species list. If these problems continue people around the world may end up like the people on Wall-E. However, there is still time to make a change. People can recycle, only use the car when you need it and don't make wasted trips, don't waste paper, turn garbage into compost for the garden, plant flowers or a small tree, throw away trash in a trash can instead of on the side of the road, etc. There are so many things people can do to help the environment, but it has to be applied in order to work. So reduce, reuse, and recycle to help the environment and save the earth from global warming. Also, this is part of an assignment for english class and I will use a pamphlet or flyer as by public discouse.

Homework and Spring Break madness!

Well, I'm back at school. It doesn't even feel like I have had a spring break and it was not as fun as I wanted it to be. The week started off well enough. I went and visited my grandma and had one lazy Sunday on the weekend before spring break officially started. The week, on the other hand, was busy. First the washer broke, in which the blug end was smoking from the wall. It was a miracle the house did not get on fire. As if that wasn't enough, around the end of the week my bed fell through the floor. So now my bed is in the living room and everything is a mess. Also, I have so much homework that is due this week. Hopefully this weekend is ten times better than my spring break was. On a better note, my grades are good. That's it for now.

English Autoethnography.

Jack Sparrow

English 201

The Autoethnography
Throughout my life so far, I have only participated in public discourse a few times. Nothing dramatic, like defacing property, but I did hand out flyers and have signed two petitions. The petitions were not really effective, but I wish they had been. I signed a petition in high school to get a stoplight at this one intersection near the high school because two of my classmates, during senior year, got in a car wreck. One classmate died and the other one was severely injured, but he lived and has a feeling of regret by accidently killing his friend, who was also one of his teammates on the high school football team. The other petition that I signed was when I was in grade school in which the school and the local community tried to prevent three teachers from getting fired. This teacher petition is what I will write about and I chose this as my public discourse.
For starters, I went to a catholic grade school that went through kindergarten to the eighth grade. I was in sixth or seventh grade when this ridiculous fiasco began. Anyway, a new priest had arrived to replace the other priest because the other priest was retiring. The new priest seemed nice at first, but I soon found out that he was greedy, cocky, and selfish. He wanted big changes to be made to the school and the church that were too expensive, which made the teachers, janitors, and cooks mad because they needed classroom repairs, new books, and new cleaning and cooking equipment. The community was also mad at him for going over the budget he was given for these big projects and he asked the community to give more money to the church.
The grade school and church committee finally had a meeting to discuss what changes should be made that would benefit the school and the church and how much would these changes cost. Some of the teachers were at this meeting and gave their opinions and ideas. One of the teachers was a first grade teacher, that is a nun, said that some of the big projects were too costly and that the funds should be used to repair the school, instead of adding on to it. She also suggested free tutoring, more academic programs, updated books and a few new computers in the library, etc. Several people in the committee thought this was a good idea, but the priest, who was also at this meeting, did not like these ideas. He argued a lot with the first grade teacher about similar issues and he eventually fired her. It was his way or the highway.
Soon after he fired the first grade teacher, the sixth grade teacher, who was also the math teacher, suggested a few ideas and opinions. The priest ignored her for a while, but one day they got into a big fight about a big financial issue. The priest fired her the next day, which was totally ridiculous. Then a week later the school hires a substitute teacher; she was friendly and explained the material well. It was during recess when everyone saw this car drive off like it was in the Indianapolis five hundred race. When everyone went back to class, we found out that the substitute teacher was fired because she said to the class that the eucharist, which is a small circle wafer people eat during part of the church service, was a symbol of Christ’s body. It is true that it is a symbol, but the priest argued that it was the actual body of Christ.
Personally, I thought that these two teachers and the substitute teacher should not have been fired. They were excellent teachers and explained the material well to the students. They should not have been fired for giving their opinions, stating facts, and stating their personal believes about their religion. This is why I signed the petition, but it didn’t do much of anything. The priest only thought of the petition as a piece of paper with names on it that did not have any urgent importance.
After staying four years at my community’s church, the priest moved to a higher ranking position near Washington D.C. I guess sometimes scum does float to the top. Anyway, we have a new priest who is really friendly and is an excellent gardener. The teachers have new jobs and are doing fine. Sometimes I wonder if I could have done more to have helped prevent these teachers from getting fired. If I would have had more money, made flyers, or had a protest rally then I definitely would have had a bigger impact on the situation. However, you can’t think of the what if questions all the time or you’ll drive yourself crazy. What’s done is done and I can’t change the past, but I can focus on the present and I am looking forward to the future.

Spring Break and Homework!

I'm so excited because this is my last day in class before spring break. I still have homework and a midterm to study for over spring break, but I got so much time to get it done which is great. The weather today is great, except that might storm later on in the day. I love spring with the birds chirping and the flowers blooming. The only thing I don't like about spring is the rainy weather and the bugs and insects come out. I don't mind insects as long as they stay out of the house, but they get in anyway and I get my flyswatter and bug spray out. Anyway, spring break is great. I probably will go and visit my cousins and my grandma during spring break. I can't wait to see them.

I think today is going to be great, but I was having a real bad day Wednesday. I got to college on time and my first class was going well, until the end of class. I was a took out my flash drive/usb card and it seemed fine. I had to restart the computer because it was frozen up. After the computer had rebooted I wanted to see if my flash drive was working properly; that is when I found out the flash drive had crashed. I had a lot of important files on my flash drive and could not retrieve them. Luckily my art teacher suggested going to the computer center, which is in this one building in the basement, and I went there and the computer technician guy said that my flash drive had crashed. I was so mad, but he was able to retrieve most of my files. He put my old files on a CD-ROM disk. He said that he likes using flash drives, but don't depend on them so much. The technician guy said people should us CD-ROM disks as a backup, just in case your flash drive would crash, and make several copies on your computer. He said that all flash drives should have backup files and that you should copy the backup files onto the computer, so that if the flash drive crashes you can take the computer and the flash drive to the computer center and he will try to fix it and you might be able to still use it. The college that I go to should advertise the computer center more because it is very helpful.

I have improved on my blogging techniques and I kind of like doing a blog. My classes are going well and I have great grades. I wish my English teacher would post/e-mail students grades because I have no idea what grade I'm getting in English. I can't wait to the end of the day to relax, but then I have to get started cleaning my house so that an electrician can fix the wall plug in. Our washer cable was smoking one day when my mom got home and burnt the plastic washer cord, that is why we need the electrician. I also want to clean out my closet, which has been messy for a long time. I gotta go, I'll write again soon.

Ideas for exercise on page 29.

For my English class I have to come up with a few ideas about the next assignment. From the exercise on page 29, some of my ideas are when I signed a petition to try to prevent some teachers from getting fired and signing a petition to get a stoplight near the high school I used to go to because one of my classmates was killed at this intersection near the high school I used to go to. I have never been in a protest or destroyed any property. I think graffiti is art as long as it is not on public property, which I consider graffiti on public property to be vandalism.

Right now I am super busy with homework. I have a math test Monday, a speech and audience analysis due on Tuesday, an art graphic design project and art paper due Monday, an art midterm Wednesday, maybe more math homework tomorrow, and too many errands and housework to do over the weekend. However, I finally got the program I needed for art and got that installed today. But overall, I'm basically playing catch up with my homework because most of the teachers are trying to cram all this homework in before spring break.

I sometimes wonder how I get everything done in such a short period of time. I have to work on homework late some nights and other nights I don't. But I get the job done, even though sometimes I would have liked to do more on a project if I had more time, I get it in and I am satisfied with the work I do. I hope I learn more from future classes and in life.

Sunrise.

Have you ever stopped to watch the sun rise? It is so beautiful with the different colors in the sky and each one is different. Sunsets are like this to, but to see the begining of a new day gives me a boost of energy. I usually get up early, like around 5:00-6:00 a.m. and most people think it is crazy to get up this early. Some of you are also still sleeping and think it is to early to get out of bed. I'm what you call an earlybird and just like getting up early and appreciate the day.

Today is a pretty good day so far, but it's gloomy and their might be a snow storm later on. oh! I love snow, but this year with the power outtages and not being able to go to school is ridiculous. I like going to college and plus if you miss to many days of class you have to start the class all over again and this wastes peoples money. I'm doing fine with my homework and just have to concentrate on midterms in March. I also get to go home early today. Yay! I write again soon.

Analyzing a Blog!

This is some more of my homework for my English class.

Jack Sparrow
English 201
February 16, 2009
Analyzing a Blog
The blog that I found interesting is called The Barb Wire. It is about a woman named Tamara, which is the writer, who chronicles her explorations of the Barb horse, endurance racing, and trust-based horse training at In the Night Farm, Idaho. The Barb Wire blog caught my attention because I love animals and I live on a dairy farm. It takes a lot of work to keep a farm going and raise farm animals; especially horses because they need adequate care to be healthy.
So, how did Tamara get started? Well, Tamara wanted to buy some land and a pair of horses for a long time, but could not. In the summer of 2005 things changed when Tamara’s mother put her is touch with a business contact saying he owned rare horses called Barbs (Tamara of In the Night Farm, Barbery Girl in a Barbery World, pars. 1-2). Tamara and her husband Travis wasted no time making their way to meet Robert and Louise Painter at Quien Sabe Ranch. Tamara and Travis spent most of their time learning from the Painter’s and helped with the maintenance of the ranch. They sold their house and lived at Quien Sabe for two months in the fall of 2006 before returning to the Treasure Valley with five Barbs and a great longing to assist with the preservation and promotion of the breed (Tamara of In the Night Farm, Barbery Girl in a Barbery World, par. 5). Tamara and Travis eventually settled on a little farm near the Idaho-Oregon border and, since Tamara had not worked with untouched adult horses before, they decided to buy an Arabian gelding so that Tamara could improve her horsemanship skills before training the Barbs.
Tamara also explains about the history and what type of breed the Barb horse comes from in her blog. Tamara states that more than three thousand years ago, horses of Afro-Turkic extraction were brought by sailing vessels from the Mediterranean to France and British aisles. These horses, when bred with the native, draft-type, Iberian horses, produced hardy foals capable of greater endurance than either their sires or their dams (Tamara of In the Night Farm, What Have We Here?: Introducing the Barb Horse, par. 2). Tamara says that the Iberian crossbreds traveled, in the hands of traders, to Spain, North Africa, and eventually the New World. The Barb horses were characterized by exceptional endurance and soundness of the legs and hooves (Tamara of In the Night Farm, What Have We Here?: Introducing the Barb Horse, par. 4). Tamara believes that the Barb horses are representatives of ancient bloodlines; unusually sound of mind and body, rare, and able to improve nearly any other horse with whom they are crossed.
Now then, Tamara represents who she is by having pictures of herself and her horses, she has her first name as part of her screen name, and where she lives and rides. She has a few inspirational quotes. For example, she has many quotes, this one is by Leonard Bernstein that says, to achieve great things two things are needed: a plan and not quite enough time (Tamara of In the Night Farm, Shot in the Dark: Achievement, par. 1). Tamara talks a little about her family and how horse training can be difficult emotionally and financially. Tamara and I share a love of animals, creative thinking, how to use what you have on short notice, and planning ahead. I believe that the writer was honest about herself by telling about her life, her jobs, her family, and her commitment to herself and other people. Tamara maintains her blog to share her life experiences and give tips to other people. She demonstrates authenticity of her blog because she knows the specific names of saddles, horses, medicines for horses, how to keep track of the horses racing improvements, and different supply stores and race meets.
The intended reader and audience of this blog would be farmers, horse trainers, some animal lovers, and anyone who wants to learn more about The Barb Wire. Some assumptions that the writer makes about the intended audience is that they know how to take care of a horse, train a horse for competitions, the costs and expenses of horse training, and knows how to ride a horse. The writer demonstrates these assumptions by abbreviating different names of associations, illnesses, and medicines. People that would not be a part of the intended audience would be anyone who knows nothing about horses, farming, or raising animals. This blog would appeal to the intended audience because it gives helpful tips for raising horses and how to plan out the racing goals for the year. I am a member of the intended audience because I like her creative quotes, the writer’s description of new events in her life, and her handy tips.
The Barb Wire blog is an appealing blog that gives of a friendly atmosphere with the pictures and quotes, it is organized and the entries have a lot of detail, and it does not have all the sex, scandal, and weirdo’s I previewed in other blogs. Tamara uses formal and informal language, but basically the blog is like a journal entry with a conversational style. The blog is organized from most recent to oldest entry. The readers can comment on an entry and get feedback from the writer.
The blog’s message is to inform others of new information and to live life with no regrets. The writer tells about events important in her life. The message is balanced because it shows how things can come up in a person’s life and that we must deal with these events in order to move forward with our lives. The message is problematic to people who whine, complain, are stuck in the past and can’t move forward, or just don’t care because they can not move on with their lives and can not see the great significance and wisdom of the message. I should believe in the blog because it is factual, it deals with being responsible and living in the real world, and that life throws you punches and you have to keep moving forward to learn more and get ahead in life. I should be skeptical because someone could have made this blog up, but I doubt it.
Personally, I have learned a lot from life so far. It is hard taking full responsibility of your life because sometimes everything is so overwhelming. You have to work harder, stop being a procrastinator, and grow up. Life is still fun and people should live life to the fullest. I will take a quote from The Barb Wire to conclude this essay. Tamara is proud to live by the words of Henry Wadesworth Longfellow, who wrote:
The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night.

Getting Started.

Hello readers. You can probably guess that blogging is new to me. I'm a student in college and the reason I started this blog is to fulfill a course assignment requirement. I will try my best and hope I learn some new things about how to blog. My day so far is not going so well. For one thing it is raining and might storm later, when I need my computer the most, and I'm falling behind on a computer art assignment. The class has to use Adobe Illustrator to create an image and since I barely know how to use the program, I feel like I'm up a creek without a paddle. But I'll get the assignment in on time and just do my best. When I graduated from high school, I didn't realize that I would have so much homework in college. I had to get in gear and work harder because it is up to me to get college homework done. Although, everyone has to work hard in life to get things done. In this blog, I will talk about different topics which might be about the classes I have, opinions I feel strongly about, how my day is going, etc. So, join me on my journey to get my college degree and learning more of life's important lessons.
